Group Therapy for Indian and South Asian women who have been through some shit. If you’ve experienced any kind of abuse,

this is the space for you.

đź“… Starts: April 24, 2025 (join at any time!)

⏳ Sessions: Bi-weekly, 90-minute group

🌍 Location: Virtual (For residents of NY, NJ, CA, and FL)

Are you a Desi or South Asian woman who struggles with:

  • Trust in romantic and family relationships?

  • Feeling isolated and alone in your experiences?

  • Being outcast by family and community?

  • Shame around traumatic experiences?

  • Difficulty feeling safe enough to talk about trauma?

  • Work-life balance, body issues, and other types of avoidance?

  • Pushing through rather than sitting and processing what you're actually feeling?

I'm a South Asian therapist who's been working with women like you for years. I promise you're not the only one. These things are hard to talk about! Maybe you don’t need to talk about what happened, but you need people around you who GET IT.

What you'll get out of group therapy:

Group therapy is very different from traditional, 1:1 therapy. Instead of working through your emotions and issues by yourself, you're doing it alongside other people. With my guidance as a licensed therapist, here's what you'll get out of this experience:

  • Build trust and relationships with reliable people

  • Reconnect with your body & intuition

  • Reclaim agency and decision-making

  • Set boundaries without feeling like a "bad" person

How do I know if I'm a good fit for this group?

This group is great for:

  • Adult South Asian women ages 18+

  • Focused on accomplishments and are high-achieving

  • Struggle with feeling isolated and connected to others

  • Resent their cultural communities

  • Avoid dating and relationships

  • Keep people at arms length

Maybe we don't have to talk about it, but let's talk around it.

You deserve a space where you can feel safe with people who feel similarly, who have BEEN there, and who share the same struggles

Thinking about starting group therapy? Let's talk about it. Schedule your free consultation with me and we'll chat

  • Yes, this group is for South Asian women who are survivors of abuse. Abuse can be domestic, narcissistic, emotional/verbal, or sexual abuse/assault. Stay tuned for future groups from me that focus on other important areas in South Asian Mental Health!

  • My rate for a 90-minute group therapy session is $125 with limited sliding scale slots available. I kindly ask that if you know you can pay my full fee, with a combination of other resources (Health Savings, Flexible Savings, and out-of-network insurance benefits), that you pay my full fee in order to ensure that someone who can't afford my full fee can still participate in the group. For more information about my rates, visit my Rates and FAQ page!

  • This therapy group is called an open-process group. This means that the group does not have an end date, is open to new members joining at any time, and is focused more on processing emotions rather than learning new skills. Open process groups are particular ideal for survivors of trauma who are processing the shame and grief that comes with the aftermath of experiencing abuse. In order to get the most out of the group experience, we ask that you attend the first 10 sessions of the group in order to feel connected to other members. After the first 10 sessions, you are welcome to attend at least once a month.

  • Yes! New members are allowed to join at any time. Please know that there will be people in the group who have been in the group for some time, and it may take time for them to adjust to new members. If you're interested in joining, schedule your free consultation with me.

  • While I may occasionally teach some emotion regulation strategies for trauma and anxiety in the group, this group is not a skills group. If you're looking for a group that is more structured and focuses on skills, a closed skills-based group may be best for you. Stay tuned for future therapy groups from me that focus on skills!
