You’re Not Supposed to be a “Blank Slate”

For South Asian Therapists who Never Felt “Good Enough”

traditional therapy

Are you tired of using traditional therapy with Brown clients?

As a South Asian therapist, you know it’s important to be culturally competent with South Asian clients. But it can be frustrating when trainings and supervisors don’t tell you how to do that.

The truth: You don’t need them to tell you what you already know! You need Clinical Group Supervision for South Asian Therapists.

South Asian Therapist

You need mentors just like YOU!

Most of what I know now was trial by fire. I had to figure it out on my own, and I want better for the next generation of South Asian therapists.

I wish I had a group of South Asian therapists I could consult regularly. Now, I’ve created one for therapists like you who are craving guidance and support.

You Gotta Free Yourself to Free Your Clients

Don’t get me wrong, your past training is useful, but it might also fuel your Perfect Indian Girl™ (or Guy, or Person) Syndrome even more.

You need to unlearn before you learn to be a better therapist. Take what you know and go back to basics. Your client doesn’t care what letters come after your name. They want to know if you get them.

$75

Per Group EMPOWERMENT session. Here’s what you’re getting:

  • Biweekly (2 per month) group sessions with South Asian therapists just like YOU!

  • Detailed support for up to TWO (2) clients a month!

  • Quality session planning that can last you up to 4-8 sessions per client.

  • My guidance as a therapist with 7+ years of experience, who’s been working with South Asian clients for 3+ years.

  • FREE Slack channel to network with other South Asian therapists and get additional support between sessions.

Got Questions?

  • Group EMPOWERMENT is group consultation for South Asian therapists looking for clinical guidance with their South Asian clients. This is NOT therapy or a CEU training, but an ethical requirement that all therapists must engage in, regardless of ethnicity or licensure status, in order to provide great therapy.

  • Due to strict state licensing laws and my business entity, I’m not able to sign off on your clinical hours for your license. You’re still welcome to join! Group EMPOWERMENT can wonderfully complement clinical supervision you’re already getting at your group practice or agency.

  • Group EMPOWERMENT is not eligible for any CEU credits. This is not a formal training for licensure renewal. For online CEUs, I highly recommend Psychwire and Simple Practice Learning.

  • You’ll be billed for 24 sessions (twice a month). You’re not obligated to attend every session, and attendance can last longer than one year. You will only be billed for sessions you attend. To support therapist bonding and consistency, I ask that you attend the first 4-8 sessions, and miss no more than one session a month afterwards. Group EMPOWERMENT is collaborative and we trust that you can hold yourself accountable to show up for yourself and for other therapists in the group. Other group members are also counting on you to give them feedback and support. If we find that you’re not able to give Group EMPOWERMENT a mindful commitment, or that your behavior is disruptive to the group, you and I may explore if Group EMPOWERMENT is still a good fit for you.

  • I totally encourage consulting a culturally competent South Asian therapist, which is why I’ll be offering 1:1 consultation offerings soon (stay tuned)! However, this group is specifically for therapists of South Asian descent, and therapists of mixed South Asian or Indo-Caribbean descent. This is because this group is healing for South Asian therapists, and will rely on personal experience to best help our clients.

  • You do not need South Asian clients to join Group EMPOWERMENT. This group requires that you are a South Asian therapist, but you do not need to see South Asian clients to join.

  • You do not need to be a resident or a therapist in the US to join Group EMPOWERMENT. I can’t advise you on any legal or ethical codes for counseling in your country of licensure, and my knowledge of environmental factors that affect your clients may be limited. I might also ask you to provide proof of malpractice insurance, if applicable. However, the goal of this group is to break down international barriers and recognize our shared humanity as therapists. You are still welcome to join!
